About Me

Hello, I'm Russell (he/him), a registered psychologist (provisional) and certified counsellor. I hold a Master of Education degree in the counselling practicum route. I have also worked over 15 years in human services with diverse populations. My passion is helping people navigate their challenges and build fulfilling lives.

My Approach

My studies and training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and mindfulness-based approaches equip me to support you effectively. ACT is a well-researched method that has helped countless people facing a variety of challenges, from depression and anxiety to trauma and stress. By working with our minds rather than against them, ACT addresses the root causes of distress, not just the symptoms.

Skills for a richer life

I specialize in mindfulness-based, trauma-informed, and mind-body approaches, which have solid evidence behind them. This work involves skills and practices to handle difficult thoughts, memories, and emotions, helping you move forward, take action, and build a life that is rich and meaningful, even in the face of great adversity. My goal is to help you connect with what’s important to you, address the things that get in the way, and foster greater resilience and well-being.

Issues

I work with issues including: Facing Adversity, Depression, Anxiety, Grief, Loss, Men's Issues, and Trauma.

I have also been involved in climate and environmental work for many years, and I offer specialized support for Eco-anxiety, Climate Distress, and the impact of social injustices and global crises on mental health.

I offer secure online counselling sessions.
